Assassin's Creed Chronicles: A Trilogy of Revenge and Duty
1. China: The Revenge of Shao Jun
Set in 1526 during the downfall of the Ming Dynasty, the story follows Shao Jun, the last remaining Assassin of the Chinese Brotherhood. After training under the legendary Ezio Auditore in Italy, she returns to her homeland to exact revenge.
Armed with a hidden shoe blade and her deadly Jian sword, she hunts the "Eight Tigers"—a group of Templars who wiped out her order.
2. India: The Love of Arbaaz Mir
Set in 1841 amidst the tensions between the Sikh Empire and the East India Company. Arbaaz Mir must recover the Koh-i-Noor diamond (a powerful Piece of Eden) that once belonged to the Brotherhood.
The story is a race against time as Arbaaz balances his duty to the Assassins with his desire to protect the woman he loves, Princess Pyari Kaur, from a Templar plot.
3. Russia: The Redemption of Nikolai Orelov
Set in 1918 during the Red October Revolution. Nikolai Orelov is a weary Assassin who wants to leave the Brotherhood and flee the country with his family.
His final mission is to infiltrate the Bolshevik stronghold and recover the Precursor Box. Along the way, he witnesses the execution of the Tsar’s family and ends up protecting Princess Anastasia, discovering she shares a mysterious connection with Shao Jun.
4. Unique 2.5D Stealth Gameplay
Unlike the main series, Chronicles focuses on side-scrolling stealth:
- Three Unique Art Styles: China uses traditional ink brushwork, India uses vibrant colors and henna patterns, and Russia uses a gritty, propaganda-poster aesthetic.
- Stealth Mastery: Use the environment to hide in shadows, whistle to distract guards, and use tools like firecrackers or noise darts.
- Agile Navigation: Climb, swing, and leap across beautiful 2.5D landscapes with classic Assassin parkour.
5. The Modern Connection
The three stories are tied together by the Precursor Box, an ancient artifact that the Templars have hunted for centuries. The game reveals how the box traveled across the world and its significance to the modern-day conflict between Abstergo and the Assassins.
