Watch Dogs

Watch Dogs (stylized as WATCH_DOGS) is a 2014 action-adventure video game developed and published by Ubisoft. It’s set in a fictionalized, hyper-connected version of Chicago where a city-wide operating system called Central Operating System (ctOS) controls virtually all electronic devices and infrastructure. In the game, you assume the role of Aiden Pearce, a skilled hacker with a troubled past whose pursuit of justice for a violent family loss draws him into a world of crime, surveillance, and conspiracy. Using Aiden’s smartphone, you can hack into traffic lights, public transit, security cameras, power grids, and citizens’ personal data to gain an advantage over enemies or manipulate the city itself as a weapon. The gameplay combines third-person shooting, stealth, driving, exploration, and puzzle-like hacking mechanics in a large open world where you can freely roam, complete story missions, or engage in side activities. Choices you make—whether through combat, hacking, or stealth—affect both story outcomes and how the city responds to you.
