Battlefield 2

Developed by DICE and released in 2005, Battlefield 2 is a landmark multiplayer FPS that set new standards for team-based warfare. Set in a modern military conflict, the game features battles between factions such as the US Marines, PLA (China), and MEC (Middle East Coalition). The game is best known for its 64-player multiplayer maps, realistic combat roles, and extensive use of vehicles, including tanks, helicopters, jets, and armored transports. Players choose from different soldier classes—such as Assault, Medic, Engineer, and Sniper—each contributing unique abilities to the team. A major innovation was the Commander system, where one player provides strategic support, UAV scans, and supply drops to guide the team. Though official servers are no longer active, Battlefield 2 remains popular through community-run servers and mods like Project Reality.
