Crysis 3 is a first-person shooter video game developed by Crytek and published by Electronic Arts. It is the third main game of the Crysis series, a sequel to the 2011 video game Crysis 2. The multiplayer portion of the game was developed by Crytek UK.
The game is set in 2047, 24 years after the events of Crysis 2. New York City has been encased in a Nanodome created by the corrupt Cell Corporation, creating a rainforest-like environment. Players take on the role of Prophet as he seeks revenge against the Alpha Ceph while navigating the dangerous urban jungle.
Crysis 3 features the most advanced Nanosuit abilities yet, allowing players to switch between armor and stealth modes seamlessly. The game's visuals were groundbreaking at release, showcasing Crytek's CryEngine 3 technology with stunning environmental effects and destructible cover.
